Streetscape

A typical streetscape in Copenhagen... notice the level changes from driving to biking to walking.  Also notice the comfortable barrier space between the cars and the rest of us. 

Graduate student and Vesterbro resident, Julie Svenson, observed, "When I am here in Copenhagen, I don't need to wear a helmet while riding my bicycle.  And it is easier to find my way by bicycle than with any other type of transportation.  I studied at the University of Washington in Seattle for one year, and I tried to use my bicycle on a daily basis, but eventually a truck hit me, so I gave it up."
