From Round Tower, you can see two very important clues to how this city works.

First is the three towers of Vestforbrandingen waste incineration plant.  The heat created by the incineration of urban waste is used to create steam for the district heating grid .  95% of Copenhagen homes are now connected to the district heating grid

Beyond Vestforbrandingen, you can see some a few of the mills of Middelgrunden , the World's first off-shore wind farm.  Completed in 2001, Middelgrunden produces 99,000 MWh, equivalent to about 3% of Copenhagen's electricity demand.
